Islamabad: The International Monetary Fund (IMF) delegation visiting Pakistan has stressed digitization of land records.
According to sources, the IMF mission visiting Pakistan has held important meetings with officials of various institutions. During these meetings, the IMF was informed about the measures taken to combat corruption and prevent financial crimes, and the IMF was briefed on measures to prevent suspicious transactions and money laundering.
According to sources, the IMF has stressed digitization of land records. The delegation was informed about effective measures to prevent terrorist financing, and the FBR was briefed on digitization, smuggling and tax evasion.
The IMF delegation has met with officials of the Federal Land Commission, Financial Monitoring Unit, according to sources, in addition to meeting with officials of the National Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Authority, it has also met with officials of the Cabinet Division, Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Law.
The IMF delegation will meet with officials of the Judicial Commission and Supreme Court of Pakistan tomorrow. The delegation will be informed about the procedure for appointment or appointment of judges and constitutional and legal matters. Sources say that the IMF delegation will meet with officials of more institutions including the Auditor General of Pakistan tomorrow.
