The Hong Kong Super Sixes, which captivated the fans from 1992 to 2017, will also feature in the Indian team.
The tournament will be played from November 1 to 3 at the Kowloon Cricket Club in Hong Kong, with 8 teams participating.
Cricket Hong Kong has confirmed the news in a post on X (Twitter) that the Indian team will also participate in the Hong Kong Super Sixes tournament.
Hong Kong’s cricketing heritage dates back to 1842, when the first official game was played, but despite its relatively small size, these competitions were attended by many men’s and women’s teams.
Cricket Hong Kong which is a member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced that the fastest format of the event is being revived after a gap of 7 years.
The tournament was an annual fixture from 1993 to 1997 before being held intermittently, the last time being in 2017 when South Africa defeated Pakistan in the final.
South Africa and England lead with 5 titles each, while Pakistan has won 4 titles, while Sri Lanka, Australia, India and West Indies have one title each.
It should be noted that India last participated in the event in 2012, after which the Blue Shirts refused to participate.
