Jamaat-e-Islami’s protest sit-in at Liaquat Bagh in Rawalpindi against the continuous increase in electricity prices, excessive taxes and inflation has entered its fourth day.
The enthusiasm of the participants is maintained and slogans are being raised. Women also became part of the sit-in and a separate pandal was built for them. Metro bus service has resumed today for the fourth day after three days of suspension.
Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Hafiz Naeemur Rahman has invited traders, teachers and labor organizations to participate in the sit-in from today. There will be an important round of negotiations between Jamaat-e-Islami and government teams today.
In the initial negotiations, Jamaat-e-Islami had presented its response in detail. The government team will give a detailed answer today.
Sources say that positive progress is expected today. Due to the sit-in, commercial business activities on adjacent markets and roads have been affected. The traffic system is also jamming.
Jamaat-e-Islami rejected the government’s request to shift the sit-in from Liaquat Bagh Chowk to Liaquat Bagh. has done and said in reply that the sit-in will continue from here.
