Lahore: It has been 50 years since Pakistan’s great singer Ustad Amanat Ali Khan passed away.
The great singer was also honored with many honors including the Presidential Award for Best Performance for his timeless artistic services.
Ustad Amanat Ali Khan was born in 1922 in the Indian city of Hoshiarpur to Patiala, a well-known classical music family, and inherited his musical education.
His duet with his younger brother Ustad Fateh Ali Khan was very popular and many of their songs were well received.
Ustad Amanat Ali Khan, who has a sweet tone and a beautiful voice, started singing thumri, kafi and ghazal at an early age, the doors of fame opened for him.
Amanat Ali Khan sang many popular ghazals and songs, his songs are popular even today, while his sons Asad Amanat Ali late and Shafqat Amanat Ali kept the father’s name alive.
The government awarded Ustad Amanat Ali Khan with the Presidential Award for his meritorious services in music and he met Khaliq Haqiqi on 18 September 1974.
