Sydney: Australian supermodel Elle Macpherson has revealed that she was cured of breast cancer by rejecting chemotherapy advice from 32 doctors.
Elle Macpherson has revealed in her new memoir that she was diagnosed with breast cancer seven years ago and decided against conventional medical treatment.
The 60-year-old model wrote that at the age of 53, she underwent a lumpectomy, was diagnosed with cancer and her doctor prescribed a mastectomy, radiation, chemotherapy, hormone therapy and breast reconstruction.
The supermodel defied medical advice to take a ‘holistic approach’ to her cancer treatment and revealed her eldest son objected to her refusing chemotherapy.
McPherson was cared for by several specialists, including his primary doctor, a naturopath, a holistic dentist, an osteopath, a chiropractor, and two therapists. For treatment, she moved to Phoenix, Arizona, where they rented a house.
The supermodel confirmed that she is now in ‘clinical remission’ from cancer but considers herself to be in perfect health.
