KARACHI: Human rights violations have increased in Sindh, with the highest number of complaints against the police.
The Sindh Human Rights Department has released a 5-month performance report, which states that 1271 human rights violations took place in the province during 5 months, including arbitrary detention, harassment, alleged rape, suicide, abuse, murder, Kidnapping for ransom is included.
Deputy Director Shahid Abro says that the maximum number of 786 complaints were against the police in Sindh. The report further states that after the police, the revenue department was on the second place, education and labor department on the third place.
43 cases of alleged rape, 94 cases of suicide, 157 cases of kidnapping for ransom and 373 cases of murder were reported across Sindh. IG Sindh has been informed to call a meeting and take action on the complaints made against the police.
