ISLAMABAD: In the meeting of Senate Standing Committee on Finance, echo of grave tax was also heard, Center Farooq Naik says that everything is being taxed on the pressure of IMF.
A meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Finance was held under the chairmanship of Senator Salim Mandviwala. Senator Anush Rehman asked if the grave is also being taxed? To which Farooq H. Naik said that the time is not far when even the grave will be taxed, yet the IMF does not know that the grave digger in Karachi should also be taxed. The item itself is being taxed.
Senator Akhunzada Chitan, while presenting proposals in the Senate Finance Committee, said tax exemptions are misused in FATA and PATA, FBR opposes tax exemptions for FATA and PATA, give industry to these areas for capitalist development. Do, there should be a 5 year plan for FATA and PATA.
Senator Akhunzada Chitan said that there is misuse of tax exemption in steel, instead of 6% tax on input in FATA should be taxed at 3%.
Chairman Committee Salim Mandviwala said that tax exemption does not benefit FATA, only few people benefit from tax exemption in FATA.
