According to the Saudi media, the Astronomical Society of Saudi Arabia says that today the sun will be directly above the Kaaba at 12:27 PM local time. In such a situation, the Sun comes parallel to the Kaaba, so that the shadow of the Kaaba is not visible. With the sun coming exactly above the Kaaba, Muslims all over the world will be able to determine the correct direction of the Qibla without the pole.
The sun comes over the Kaaba twice a year, once in the summer and the second time in the winter.
