ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court invalidated the dismissal notification of Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui and declared him a retired judge of the Islamabad High Court.
The Supreme Court issued a detailed decision on the Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui dismissal case.
Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa wrote a 23-page judgment according to which Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui will be entitled to all benefits including pension as a retired judge.
The Supreme Court also nullified the recommendation of the Supreme Judicial Council against Justice Shaukat Siddiqui.
The Supreme Court admitted in the judgment that unfortunately there was a delay in the judgment of the case of Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui due to which Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui reached the age of retirement and therefore he cannot be reinstated as a judge due to the retirement age.
A five-member larger bench of the Supreme Court had reserved the decision in the Shaukat Siddiqui case on January 23.
In the last hearing of the case, Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa, while reserving the verdict, remarked that all the parties are admitting that the inquiry was not complete.
