Washington: If you have traveled by air, you will be well aware that before the plane takes off and lands, it is announced to passengers to put their mobile phones in airplane mode.
The mobile phone’s airplane mode actually disconnects your handset from the SIM signal, while its operating system runs normally.
Various things have come to light regarding putting a mobile phone in airplane mode on special occasions during travel, but now an American pilot has explained it openly.
A pilot named Preach from the United States has revealed that if the mobile phone is not put in airplane mode during takeoff and landing, then there are many problems in contacting the ground control room and the signal cannot be received.
He clarified that the airplane mode is not a conspiracy but rather a measure taken to protect passengers because contact with the control room is very important during flight.
The pilot said that due to the mobile phone signal, the voice coming from the control room starts echoing and due to this the captain has to face a lot of difficulties because instructions are being received from the control room on both occasions.
He said that if a passenger is sitting near the cockpit and the signal is coming to his mobile, then the problem increases.
