Islamabad: The Election Commission has completed its investigation into the allegations of rigging by former Rawalpindi Commissioner Liaquat Ali Chatta.
According to the sources, all the DROs and ARs of Rawalpindi Division have categorically rejected the allegations of rigging in the elections of the former commissioner. The High Level Investigation Committee of the Election Commission will submit a report to the Election Commission after the last meeting today. The inquiry committee recorded the written statements of all the 6 DROs of Rawalpindi Division.
According to sources, the statements of 13 returning officers of the National Assembly and 26 returning officers of the Provincial Assembly were also recorded in Rawalpindi Division. The transcript of the press conference of former Rawalpindi commissioner on rigging allegations has also been made a part of the investigation report.
