LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz has ordered to stop development works worth 36 billion rupees in Lahore.
Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz inquired from the officers of various departments participating in the meeting regarding the problems of Lahore, whether the problems of Lahore will be solved permanently by investing a lot of money.
Other officers including Secretary Housing and Deputy Commissioner Lahore Rafa Haider could not satisfy the Chief Minister Punjab. Maryam Nawaz ordered to stop the development of 36 billion in Lahore city. The Chief Minister also issued instructions to re-evaluate the development schemes while prohibiting the issuing of tenders. Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz had approved the budget of 12 billion to Baldia Uzmi Lahore on 22 Vasa. PC1 of Baldia Azmi Lahore and WASA schemes have been approved.
MD Wasa Ghafran Ahmed said that the problems cannot be solved on a permanent basis, but they can be reduced. Water supply and drainage issues will be resolved when funds are released by the Punjab government. Drainage problems are solved in the city, but blocked drains are common. Matters will be resolved in the upcoming meeting with Chief Minister Punjab
