Islamabad: The Election Commission has given a safe decision on the petitions against the newly elected members not taking oath on certain seats in the KP Assembly.
The Election Commission directed that if the Speaker of the KPK Assembly does not convene a meeting and take oath, the Senate elections will be postponed to the extent of the province.
In the decision issued by the Election Commission, it was said that if the Speaker of the KP Assembly does not follow the decision of the Peshawar High Court, then the elections will be postponed.
The decision further said that the Speaker of the KP Assembly should implement the decision of the Peshawar High Court and if the new members are not sworn in, the Election Commission will be forced to postpone the Senate elections in KP and the date of the Senate elections in the province. will be extended.
The judgment said that voting is the fundamental right of every citizen and no one can be deprived of the right to vote.
