Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has said that smog is being spread under the patronage of the administration on the strength of bribery and debris is being thrown on crop residues while we are being told behind the truck lights that the smog is coming from India.
At a time when various cities of Punjab, including Peshawar and Islamabad, are facing the worst air pollution, instead of showing seriousness, members of the ruling coalition seem to be making fun of this issue.
Defense Minister Khawaja Asif wrote in his post on ‘X’, ‘It is said that smog is being created by burning crop residues while vehicles are the most polluting.’
He also shared a chart in his post showing that the total emission from transport was 127 gigagrams while burning crop residues resulted in 5.97 gigagrams of emission.
Khawaja Asif wrote in the post, “Look at this chart, you will see the real accused, whose names are not even mentioned, although the remains of crops have been being burned since the time of Mohenjo-Daro.”
