Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has received yet another death threat, following which the Mumbai police have beefed up his security.
The latest threat, allegedly sent by a member of the Besnoi gang on WhatsApp to the Mumbai Traffic Control Room, demanded Salman Khan pay Rs 5 crore or visit the Besnoi temple in Rajasthan.
This is the second time the threat has been made within 10 days, prompting the police to take immediate action. According to the police, the source of the message was initially traced to Karnataka, but the use of VPN made it difficult to trace the location.
A 35-year-old welder from Bangalore has been detained in this connection, and investigations are underway to determine whether he has any links with the Besnoi gang.
According to the police, given the background of previous threats against Salman Khan, any threat must be taken seriously.
Additional police have been deployed at Salman Khan’s residence and his security team has been instructed to immediately report any suspicious activity to the police. Meanwhile, the actor has also been instructed to be cautious and avoid unnecessary public events.
