Karachi: Petrol pump owners have rejected the government’s deregulation policy and rejected the formula. Pakistan Petroleum Dealers have also hinted at closing petrol pumps across the country.
All Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association Chairman Abdul Sami Khan has said in an express conversation that they reject the deregulation formula for petroleum product prices because if the deregulation formula is implemented, petroleum smuggling and adulteration will start.
It should be noted that by deregulating the prices of petroleum products, petrol pumps will determine their own prices.
According to Abdul Sami Khan, an emergency meeting of the Central Committee of the Petroleum Dealers Association has been called in this regard and protest banners will be displayed across the country from today.
He said that an urgent letter will be sent to the Ministry of Petroleum opposing the deregulation formula and demanding an increase in margins.
Abdul Sami Khan has demanded that the margin per liter of petroleum dealers be increased by 4% to Rs. 13. He said that although OGRA supported petroleum dealers on the deregulation formula, OGRA officials did not have the courage to speak in front of the ministry.
