KARACHI: The work on the development projects that were stopped after the departure of the caretaker government has been started, while the interior department has approved one billion 30 crore one lakh 49 thousand rupees for the repair of 15 jails.
Home Department has prepared a case for approval of PDWP from Planning and Development Department, Central Jail Sukkur, Central Jail Khairpur, Central Jail Larkana, District Jail Ghotki will have construction work, District Jail Shikarpur, Jacobabad, Women Jail. Larkana, Sukkur Jail will also be repaired.
An administrative block will also be constructed in the Central Jail Karachi, while internal roads, paths and drainage will be constructed in the Central Jail Karachi, Central Jail Mirpur Khas, District Jail Nowshahru Feroze and District Jail Nawabshah will also be repaired. A boundary wall of more than 10 feet will be constructed between District Jail Jacobabad and District Jail Sanghar.
Finance Department will release the amount after approval by Planning and Development Department.
It should be remembered that as soon as the general elections were announced, the caretaker government of Sindh had stopped the work on the projects of these 15 prisons.
