Saint Lucia: After West Indies’ defeat last night, the mega event continued its interesting tradition that no host team has ever won the T20 World Cup title.
In the current T20 World Cup, South Africa has reached the semi-finals without losing a match so far.
Interestingly, no host nation has won the title since the inception of this short format tournament, with Sri Lanka being the only host to have played in the final of the tournament in 2012.
Both the co-hosts of the current event, USA and West Indies, have been eliminated from the title race.
