London: Scientists have developed a new ultrasound test that can diagnose ovarian cancer in up to 96 percent of postmenopausal women.
According to experts, the results of the research suggest that this new test should be implemented in place of the current CARE test used in the UK.
In this new study, scientists compared all the diagnostic tests currently available and found one particular test to be more sensitive than the others.
Of the six diagnostic tests studied, the IOTA ADNEX model (which looks at how the tumor looks on ultrasound) had the best results, and the model was able to diagnose up to 96 percent of the disease in women with ovarian cancer. is
Professor Sudha Sundar, who led the study from the University of Birmingham, said that the ultrasound test clearly surpassed the current standard of care in the UK.
According to the researchers, the results of the study suggest that this test should be used instead of the risk of malignancy (RNI1, which has a diagnostic rate of 83 percent).
