Disclosure of alleged theft and embezzlement in the collection of general sales tax, disclosure of tax evasion and embezzlement of more than 7 billion in sales tax in the last 15 years, Legal Aid and Justice Authority Amendment Bill 2024 was approved in the National Assembly.
According to the details, the meeting of the National Assembly was presided over by Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, in the meeting, Syed Naveed Qamar of People’s Party presented the attention notice regarding the alleged theft and embezzlement in the collection of General Sales Tax.
Minister of State for Finance Ali Pervez Malik while responding to the attention notice said that the government is serious about this issue and is also taking steps to prevent tax fraud and has made laws that make it difficult to commit fraud.
Earlier in the National Assembly session, People’s Party member Shazia Sobia Aslam said that despite the decrease in inflation, why are the people not feeling the positive effects?
Ali Pervez said that the reduction in the rate of inflation does not mean a reduction in prices but a reduction in the rate of increase.
During the meeting, the National Assembly approved the Legal Aid and Justice Authority Amendment Bill 2024. Later the meeting was adjourned till tomorrow.
