GAZA: The United Nations children’s organization UNICEF said that more than 50 children were martyred by Israel’s bombardment in the past 48 hours on the Jabalia camp in Gaza.
As reported by Al Jazeera, Rachel Cummings, UNICEF’s Save Children International humanitarian director and head of the team in Gaza, said that children continue to be under bombardment and are in constant fear.
Speaking in Deir al-Balah area of central Gaza, he said that the number of children martyred in the war is much more than 20,000 because many children have gone missing during the war.
Rachel Cummings said that people are being targeted in airstrikes and we know that there is insufficient food and water, even trucks bringing food and water are not being allowed to enter the north and this is really serious. There is a crisis.
The UN agency said in a statement that the Israeli attack killed a large number of children and that the bombing targeted residential buildings where hundreds of people were present.
According to the data of the Ministry of Health of Gaza, more than 16 thousand 700 children have been martyred in this war that started in October last year in Gaza, and the total number of martyrs has reached more than 43 thousand 341 and the number of children in it. More than a third.
UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell said the latest attacks add another dark chapter to the alarming number of child martyrs in northern Gaza.
