It has been revealed that the Indian ruling BJP party wants to seize the waqf properties of Muslims with the help of law.
These properties are spread over an area of “1 million acres” across India and consist of agricultural lands, urban buildings, shops, mosques, shrines, cemeteries, etc., whose current value is “14 billion dollars” (3920 billion rupees).
The income of waqf in the path of Allah Almighty is given to madrasas and other welfare Muslim institutions, which are run by 32 waqf boards working under the 1995 Waqf Act.
The Modi government claims that these boards have become a hotbed of corruption and wants to hand over the management of most of the waqf properties to the state governments by making 44 amendments to the act, as if the nationalist Hindu governments will become the owners of the waqf properties of Muslims.
The Modi government changed its tactics to avoid being disgraced, especially in the Arab world, and is now using the law as a weapon to persecute Indian Muslims.
