WASHINGTON DC: President-elect Donald Trump has nominated Pam Bondi as the new head of the US Department of Justice.
Pam Bondi has been the Attorney General of the US state of Florida. Bondi has been a long-time Trump supporter and was Trump’s lawyer when Trump was accused of abuse of power during his first impeachment hearing.
It should be noted that Matt Gaetz, a former Florida congressman and US President Donald Trump, had previously nominated him for the position of Attorney General.
But Matt Gaetz said in a message on social media that his nomination was becoming an unfair distraction, so he announced his withdrawal from the position.
According to reports, Matt Gaetz has been accused of sexual misconduct and other crimes, which he has denied.
