LAHORE: The alleged internet shutdown in the country has been challenged in the Lahore High Court and the petition is scheduled for hearing today.
Justice Shakeel Ahmed of Lahore High Court will hear the petition filed by Shahri today.
The petition states that due to unknown reasons internet has been slowed down in Pakistan, IT related businesses are badly affected due to internet outage.
In the petition filed in the Lahore High Court, the position has been adopted that the world is moving towards the latest technology while the IT sector is being destroyed in Pakistan.
Drawing attention to the losses caused by the alleged shutdown of the Internet, it has been said that Pakistani companies and youth are earning billions of rupees in foreign exchange from IT.
It has been requested from the Supreme Court that by declaring the shutdown of the Internet invalid, the court should oblige the government not to shut down the Internet in the future.
