Rawalpindi: Jamaat-e-Islami’s sit-in at Liaquat Bagh Chowk Murree Road against expensive electricity, hosharba taxes and inflation continues for the 10th day.
Rawalpindi is overcast making the weather pleasant, participants were treated to naan and hot halwa for breakfast.
So far, there have been 2 meetings between the Jamaat-e-Islami and the government negotiation committees which have been inconclusive.
Deputy Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Liaquat Baloch will announce the future plan of action in the press conference, while Jamaat-e-Islami has made it clear that the sit-in will not only continue until the demands are approved, but it can be extended to the national level.
One side of Murree Road is open to general traffic and traffic is flowing while business activities are also going on as usual.
