Beirut: Foreign news agencies have claimed, quoting Iranian officials, that Quds Force chief Ismail Qani has not been in contact with authorities since last week’s attack in Beirut.
Two Iranian security officials said Quds Force chief Ismail Qani went to Lebanon after Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah was killed in a Beirut attack and has not been seen since last week’s attacks, Reuters reported.
The report said that Ismail Qani was in Dahiya, a suburb of Beirut, when the attack happened and that senior Hezbollah official Hashim Safiuddin was targeted, but the official said he had not scheduled a meeting with Hashim Safiuddin.
The official said Iran and Hezbollah had no contact with Ismail Qani after the incident.
Another official said that Ismail Qani went to Lebanon after the assassination of Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah and that Iranian officials have not been in contact with him since the attack on Hashim Safiuddin, believed to be Hashim Safiuddin. He was expected to be the next head of Hezbollah.
On the other hand, the spokesman of the Israeli army, Lt. Col. Nadev Shoshani, when asked about the targeting of Ismail Qani, said that the attack is still under review, but Israel launched an attack on Hezbollah’s intelligence headquarters in Beirut last week. was
An Israeli army spokesman told reporters that when we have clear reports on the attack, we will release it, but there are many questions about who was there.
It should be noted that the Quds Force oversees the arms affairs of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards and is in contact with organizations in the Middle East, including Hezbollah, which are allies of Tehran.
On September 27, the IRGC Commander Brigadier General Abbas Nilufroshan along with Secretary General of Hezbollah Hassan Nasrallah was also martyred by Israel’s bombing.
