Kathmandu: A helicopter crashed in Nepal’s Nawakot district, killing 5 people including a woman.
According to the Indian media, the crashed helicopter belonged to Air Dynasty, which was going from the capital Kathmandu to Safrobansi, but it lost contact with the control tower just 3 minutes after take off.
During the search operation, the wreckage of the helicopter was found in a forest in Suryachur, while the local pilot and 4 Chinese nationals on board the helicopter were killed, whose identification is in progress.
The body of one remains unidentified while the pilot has been identified as Arun Malla. The cause of the accident has not yet been determined. An inquiry committee was constituted for the investigation.
It should be noted that air accidents are common in Nepal due to bad weather, high mountains and forests and many airports make it difficult even for a trained pilot to land safely.
