ISLAMABAD: The Prime Minister has formed an Economic Advisory Council under his chairmanship, in which Jahangir Tareen has also been included.
Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has formed a 9-member Economic Advisory Council (EAC) to review various subsidies, financial changes and make policies for the improvement of the economy. .
The Finance Division has also issued a notification for the formation of the Economic Advisory Council, according to which the Prime Minister himself will head the Council. Jahangir Tareen, Saqib Shirazi, Shahzad Saleem have also been included in the advisory council. Besides, Mossadegh Zulqarnain, Dr. Ejaz Nabi, Asif Peer, Ziad Bashir, Salman Ahmed will also be part of the council.
The prime minister will also consult with the council regarding the budget and economic policies for the new fiscal year. There is also a possibility of important suggestions and consultations regarding the ongoing negotiations with the IMF.
