ISLAMABAD: FBR has contacted the traders and invited them for talks tomorrow in the matter of protest against Trader Friendly Scheme and increase in electricity bills.
According to sources, the members of FBR Land Revenue Operations have contacted the representatives of the traders, there is a possibility of a discussion between the traders representatives and the FBR officials tomorrow at the FBR headquarters, in which the FBR has taken all the genuine information of the traders. It is decided to accept the demands. Sources say that there is a possibility of amendment in the notification of businessman friendly scheme.
Traders have called for a nationwide shutter-down strike on August 28 against the tax policies. Business leaders Kashif Chaudhry and Ajmal Baloch have rejected the scheme. FBR has registered 58,000 traders under the trader-friendly scheme against the target of 32 lakh.
Business leader Kashif Chaudhry has said that he has informed the FBR about his demands, he will go to the negotiations only if the FBR shows flexibility, there is no point in going to the useless negotiations, the negotiations will be held in consultation this evening. Will decide regarding the invitation.
In his video message, he said that there will be no negotiations without the notification of the trader-friendly scheme and the abolition of taxes on electricity bills.
General Secretary Central Organization of Tradesmen of Pakistan Syed Abdul Qayyum Agha has also stuck to the statement and said that there will be a nationwide strike on August 28.
