Karachi: PCB declared domestic cricket as the key to the door of the national team, in the last few days it was decided to strengthen the local system of the game.
According to the details, an important meeting of PCB was held in the National Cricket Academy Lahore under the chairmanship of Chairman Mohsin Naqvi regarding domestic cricket. In the important meeting that lasted for 3 hours, it was decided to strengthen the domestic cricket system, quality cricket. Mohsin Naqvi also approved the plan for promotion.
In this regard, Chairman PCB said that quality domestic cricket will be promoted at all levels, tournaments will be organized continuously from club to national level, good players will be groomed in a professional manner, best coaches will be new talent. By training, the players will be given a chance on performance, fitness and merit, the promotion of quality domestic cricket will help to reduce the gap with international cricket.
During the meeting, it was decided to improve the quality of coaching for domestic cricket, a master coach will be appointed for the training of coaches, it was also decided to revise the domestic contract, Mohsen Naqvi said that the players should be included in the national team. For joining I will have to play domestic cricket, selection will be based on performance and tricks only, there will be no compromise on merit, performance and fitness.
On the instructions of the Chairman, it was also decided to hold tournaments in all three formats for the promotion of quality domestic cricket. Mohsin Naqvi said that work has to be done on an emergency basis to bring new players to the fore, investing in new talent will bring cricket to a lower level. But there will be promotion and positive results will come out.
In the meeting, the features of the domestic cricket structure of India, Australia, England and New Zealand were also reviewed, recommendations and suggestions for the promotion of quality domestic cricket were considered. PCB Chief Operating Officer Salman Naseer, Chief Financial Officer, Selection Committee Analyst Bilal Afzal, Directors International Cricket, High Performance Centers, Domestic Cricket, PSL, Commercial and other related departments were also present on this occasion.
