Islamabad: Daily smuggling of 4,000 tons of oil has been revealed in the country.
According to a private TV report, 4,000 metric tons of oil per day has been revealed in the country, which is causing a monthly loss of 3.56 million dollars to the national treasury. Help has been sought from OGRA and the Oil Companies Advisory Council (OCAC) has written to Secretary Petroleum.
The letter states that the sales situation of petrol and diesel has become similar to the Corona period. Sales of diesel and petrol were down by 6.5 percent in July-February compared to last year. The letter said that the oil supply chain has been adversely affected by oil smuggling. Therefore, steps should be taken to stop oil smuggling.
OCAC recommended a nationwide crackdown on smuggled oil and legislation against oil smuggling. The council launched a nationwide campaign against oil smuggling, demanding the immediate closure of illegal petrol pumps. It is also recommended.
