Rahim Yar Khan: The Kutch Machka police allegedly released the death row prisoner from the district jail in exchange for the release of the hostage’s constable Ahmed Nawaz and handed him over to the robbers.
The video of the massive air firing after the release of the robbers’ accomplice went viral on social media. The hostage was handed over to the heirs.
4 days ago, bandits in the area of Machchka, after abducting police constable Ahmed Nawaz during a rocket attack, made a viral video of an appeal for the release of the constable in order to get the demands approved.
According to the sources, last night, the police accepted the demand of the robbers and released Jabar Lulai, who was sentenced to death in prison for murder, and handed him over to the Shir gang. The DPO office was shifted to Rahim Yar Khan from where it was handed over to the heirs in the presence of IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar.
On the other hand, the police has denied the release of the accused Abdul Jabbar Lulai in exchange for the release of Ahmed Nawaz.
The police said that wrong and baseless false news is being spread by linking the release from the court with the recovery of police constable Ahmed Nawaz.
DPO Rizwan Umar Gondal said that the police recovered Constable Ahmed Nawaz safely through a successful operation in Kutch, the police is fully capable of achieving its targets in Kutch.
The DPO said that the accused Abdul Jabbar Lulai was imprisoned in Bhong police station case number 268/21 Bajram 302, the court sentenced the accused Abdul Jabbar Lulai to life imprisonment on 01/02/23, the Bahawalpur High Court of the accused. Appeal allowed on 23/05/24, Accused Abdul Jabbar was released by Additional Sessions Judge on 27/06/24.
The DPO said that the accused Abdul Jabbar was in jail in the cases number 387/21 and 649/21 of the Bhong and Kotsabzal police stations. The release from the court has nothing to do with the recovery of Constable Ahmed Nawaz.
DPO Rizwan Umar Gondal said that the accused was not in police custody, it is completely wrong and baseless to link the release of the accused from the court to the success of the police. Don’t mislead.
