Rawalpindi: Commissioner Rawalpindi has announced his resignation admitting rigging in the election.
Commissioner Rawalpindi Liaquat Ali Chatta announced his resignation over election irregularities while holding a press conference at the Pindi Cricket Stadium.
He said that we won 13 people from Rawalpindi on the night of February 8 and converted the lost candidates into a lead of 50,000. I have done injustice in Rawalpindi division. Later I tried to commit suicide, then I thought why should I die a forbidden death, why not put everything in front of the people.
Liaquat Ali Chatta said that I should be hanged in Rawalpindi Kachhari Chowk, I accept the responsibility of election rigging in Rawalpindi Division and surrender myself to the police, the stab in the back of the country will make me sleep. No, I want to die a peaceful death and I should be punished for cruelty, the Chief Election Commissioner and others should be punished along with me.
Commissioner Rawalpindi said that we won the losers in thirteen National Assembly seats of Rawalpindi Division. Subordinates did not want to do this.
Liaquat Ali Chatta said that the Chief Justice and the Chief Election Commissioner are involved in this crime of rigging. I can’t participate.
