The Supreme Court, during the hearing of the case of attacks on military installations in Rawalpindi on May 9, gave time to the Punjab government to submit reports.
A three-member bench headed by the Chief Justice heard the appeals. During the hearing, the Additional Prosecutor General of Punjab sought time to present arguments on the appeals filed for cancellation of bail of the accused and said that he would present arguments in the light of the JIT reports he wants to submit.
The court gave time to the Punjab government to submit reports, Chief Justice Yahya Afridi said that some appeals are also for transferring the case, appeals for transferring the case have become ineffective.
The Additional Prosecutor General of Punjab said that the judge of the Anti-Terrorism Court Rawalpindi has been transferred, there are eleven transfer applications, a fine of Rs. 200,000 has been imposed in all, and remarks have also been made against the Prosecutor General of Punjab in the decision.
Chief Justice Yahya Afridi said that you should also deposit some money, Ahmed Raza Gilani said that as a prosecutor, it is a cause of discomfort to be asked to obstruct the court proceedings.
Chief Justice Yahya Afridi remarked that if such is the case, he will call his judicial officer and hear his position. He cannot remove the fine without issuing notice to the parties. It would be appropriate to take instructions again on the appeals to transfer the case.
The Additional Prosecutor General of Punjab said that the cases of May 9 are scheduled for tomorrow and the day after tomorrow.
Chief Justice Yahya Afridi said that tomorrow’s cases will be heard tomorrow.
The Punjab Prosecution has approached the Supreme Court to cancel the bail decisions of various accused.
