Washington: US President Joe Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a telephone conversation, in which they discussed the ceasefire in Gaza and the agreement to release hostages.
According to a statement issued by the White House, Prime Minister Netanyahu informed President Biden of the progress made in the Gaza ceasefire talks, while President Biden stressed the need to accelerate this process and an immediate ceasefire.
According to the White House, President Joe Biden also stressed the need for the immediate provision of humanitarian assistance in Gaza and said that relief activities can be improved through a ceasefire.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Netanyahu thanked President Biden for his US support for Israel and informed him of Israel’s position regarding the ceasefire agreement.
According to the White House, negotiations regarding a ceasefire and the release of hostages in Gaza are ongoing, and further progress is expected in the coming days.
