The Ministry of Interior has approved the deployment of army across the country during Muharram.
The Ministry of Home Affairs issued a letter to the four provinces, Gilgit and Azad Kashmir government, according to the letter, the deployment of army was approved on the request of the provinces, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan government.
According to the notification, the army is being deployed to help the civil administration, the deployment of Pakistan Army has been done under Article 245 of the Constitution.
On the other hand, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has called an important meeting regarding the security arrangements during Muharram, in which the measures to protect people’s lives and property during Muharram will be reviewed.
In the meeting, the security plan of the gatherings and processions will also be reviewed, IG Islamabad Police Ali Nasir Rizvi will give a briefing about the security plan of Muharram.
