The California Legislature has passed a bill with bipartisan support called the California School Food Safety Act.
The aforementioned bill bans the use of dye No. 40 red and five other chemicals in food served in government schools.
California has become the first state in the nation to pass a bill that would ban the use of ingredients found in popular cereals, ice cream, beverages, toffees, ice pops, jellies, cheese-flavored chips and other foods, according to the Environmental Working Group. Banned.
