London: E-commerce company Amazon says that the company will start delivering packages through drones in the UK by the end of this year.
An online shopping company has been chosen for a trial to increase the use of drones in the UK. The company says they will deliver small packages within an hour of being ordered.
The company is one of six organizations selected by the Civil Aviation Authority to test Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) drone flights. BVLOS means that operators will not be required to monitor these gadgets in flight.
The company is already delivering packages via drone in Lockford, California and College Station, Texas in the US.
The drones will be able to fly up to 12 kilometers from their base in one of the UK’s fulfillment centres.
