Stockholm: Iraq’s former defense minister was arrested in Sweden on charges of fraud.
According to a foreign news agency, Iraq’s former defense minister, Nahah al-Shammari, was arrested for a short time on charges of fraudulently obtaining benefits.
According to the public prosecutor, Nahah Al-Shamri was detained when he landed at the airport in Stockholm, the capital of Sweden. In 2019, there were reports that the former Iraqi defense minister had obtained special privileges for housing and children in Sweden despite holding an important position in Iraq and was also investigated.
