The government of Saudi Arabia has announced the new key bearer of the Kaaba.
According to a post published by the official handle of Haramain Sharif, Abdul Wahab Bin Zain Al Abedin Al Shaibi is the new chief and key bearer of the Kaaba.
This announcement came after the announcement of the death of Sheikh Salih al-Sheiba, the 109th successor of the Companion Uthman bin Talha and the 109th guardian of the Kaaba, on June 22.
On his appointment, Abdul Wahab Bin Zainul Abedin Al-Shaibi said, May Allah grant me success in carrying out this responsibility under the rule of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince.
It is customary to hand over the key of the Kaaba to the eldest member of the family. Their first task is to hand over the Kiswah of the Kaaba, i.e., the cover of the Kaaba, on the 1st of Muharram and cover the walls of the Kaaba with it.
