ISLAMABAD: NTDC has prepared a ten-year power generation and transmission plan and submitted it to Nepra.
The power generation plan has been made for 2024 to 2034. Nepra has invited proposals from partners on the power generation and transmission plan.
According to the plan, the investment for the power generation and transmission plan has been estimated at more than 72 billion dollars.
An estimated investment of $64 billion for production projects and $8.7 billion for transmission projects.
Similarly, the National Transmission and Dispatch Company has estimated the cost of ongoing electricity transmission projects at 3 billion 20 million dollars and the cost of new transmission projects at 5 and a half billion dollars.
There is a possibility of 46% increase in renewable energy, while the electricity production capacity is targeted at 42,57,000 megawatts. Power demand growth is pegged at 3.5 to 6 percent GDP growth.
