Washington: A $100 million computer has been developed in the United States that will be able to make more accurate predictions of climate change with the help of AI.
The US government has announced that this new $100 million high-performance computer system will advance the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration NOAA’s science and climate change research and development efforts.
Rhea, a high-performance computer, will support NOAA in forecasting weather, climate, oceans and ecosystems with the help of AI.
Assistant Secretary of Commerce Michael C. Morgan wrote in a news release that the Rhea high-performance computer system increases the computing capacity needed by the agency to enhance the nation’s climate research.
