Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, during a lecture in London, recalled the courageous political struggle of his mother Benazir Bhutto, saying that her life was dedicated to the better future of Pakistan.
Bilawal Bhutto emphasized that Benazir Bhutto always played an important role for the advancement of women and the consolidation of democracy in the country.
He said that my mother Benazir Bhutto started studying at Oxford University at the age of just 16 and then entered Pakistani politics at the age of 25. She was an extraordinary woman, with whom everyone who met her would have established a personal connection.
Bilawal Bhutto also emphasized that Benazir Bhutto never taught the politics of revenge in her life and according to her, democracy is the best revenge.
He said that Benazir Bhutto opened the doors of politics for women and became the first woman to become Prime Minister of Pakistan, despite being subjected to various attacks.
Bilawal Bhutto said that Benazir Bhutto’s determination and courage created new possibilities for women in Pakistan, and today we see that the Chief Minister of Punjab is also a woman.
Bilawal Bhutto added that the promotion of democracy and a better future for the people of Pakistan is the goal of his politics, Pakistan can no longer afford another martial law.
The future of Pakistan is linked to the independence of the judiciary, freedom of the press and the supremacy of democracy. Bilawal Bhutto said that the people of Pakistan have the right to demand their rights and it is important to be a part of their struggle so that the path of development and prosperity can be paved in the country.
He expressed his determination that his party will work with full dedication for the development of Pakistan, and every possible step will be taken for the supremacy of democracy.
