The Islamabad High Court reserved its decision on the admissibility of the petition to order the publication of the draft of the proposed constitutional amendment and order to take public opinion.
Chief Justice of High Court Amir Farooq heard the petition of former Senator Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar. Mustafi Nawaz Khokhar appeared before the court along with his lawyer Mian Samiuddin Ahmed.
Chief Justice Amir Farooq remarked that this matter is also pending in the Supreme Court, the entire procedure for presenting the bill is also in place.
The lawyer for the petitioner argued that I am talking about pre-legislation, the basic structure of the constitution is being changed through constitutional amendments.
The Chief Justice said in his remarks that you are talking about newspaper clippings, nothing is known yet, there is also talk of constitutional bench in newspapers, if you are going only on news clippings, then the consultation is going on accordingly. 10 days ago a notification was issued then it was found to be fake it happens only with us.
The court remarked that the decision has been reserved for hearing in the Lahore High Court and the Peshawar High Court has given notice, if there is a case in different High Courts, then you can go to the Supreme Court and submit it together.
The High Court reserved its decision when the petition was admissible.
