Ankara: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that the Security Council should stop Israeli attacks in Gaza and Lebanon.
In a conversation after attending a cabinet meeting of the Turkish government, he said that if the Security Council fails to stop Israel, the General Assembly should recommend the use of force.
The Turkish president said that the General Assembly should act against Israel in the same way as it did in 1950.

He said that it is a pity that even Muslim countries could not take an effective stand against Israel, political, economic and diplomatic measures should be taken against Israel to press for a ceasefire.
Demanding the international community and the Muslim Ummah to mobilize for peace in the region, the Turkish President said that if Israel is not stopped, other Muslim countries can also be targeted.
