ISLAMABAD: Significant progress has been made in the White Oil Pipeline project for Pakistan’s energy infrastructure with the support of SIFC.
According to the details, an agreement was reached between the stakeholders for Machike, Thalian and Turujba pipeline project to start the construction work on the 477 km long white oil pipeline project.
Being a research and development project, it is a flagship project of Pakistan State Oil, PARCO and Interstate Gas System headed by Frontier Works Organization.
The pipeline consists of two sections between Machike, Thalian and Turujba, parallel to the motorway. There is also facility to connect this pipeline with Attock Refinery, Chak Pirana and Faqirabad.
The construction of this project will ensure smooth supply of oil and also reduce the cost, which will save billions of rupees in the national exchequer.
The purpose of the White Oil Pipeline is to ensure the efficient supply of petroleum products, as well as to prevent adulteration and increase safety. The initial supply capacity under this project is 7 million tonnes per annum which can be increased to 10 million tonnes per annum.
The pipeline will cover a strategic route to reduce dependence on road transport, reduce environmental impact, and improve the overall efficiency of oil distribution.
The speedy completion of the White Oil Pipeline project is proof of the government and SIFC’s commitment to the development of the petroleum division.
