ISLAMABAD: Founder PTI Imran Khan has filed a petition in the Supreme Court for early hearing of the appeal on the issue of disqualification.
Barrister Ali Zafar filed a request for early hearing.
In the petition, the position was adopted that efforts are being made to keep the founder PTI out of politics, Imran Khan was de-seated from Mianwali by the Election Commission on the reference of the Speaker of the National Assembly and the founder Tehreek-e-Insaf was allowed to contest the election on the decision of the Election Commission. The Lahore High Court larger bench was hearing the appeal against the Election Commission, but the Islamabad High Court refused to accept the plea to withdraw the appeal. Due to the order of the Islamabad High Court, the Lahore High Court larger bench is not able to proceed with the proceedings.
In the petition, it was requested that the appeal against the Islamabad High Court decision be fixed for early hearing.
