GUJARAT: A recent study has found that high caffeine intake can increase the risk for heart health.
A medical student in India found in a study that drinking more than 400 milligrams of caffeine per day on most days of the week could increase the risk of heart disease in healthy people.
Nancy Kagathara, a second-year doctoral student at Zeds Medical College and Hospital in Gujarat, said that non-communicable diseases such as hypertension are on the rise, and there is a reason for this.
Explaining why she started this research project, Nancy said that while some risk factors for high blood pressure are known, caffeine consumption has not been much investigated.
