KARACHI: Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Qaiser Ahmad Sheikh has said that due to the internet being affected, where business has been affected across the country, it has also affected Karachi Port and Port Qasim.
Addressing a conference on Logistics, Maritime Affairs and Blue Economy (Columbus 24) in Karachi, Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh said that the traders’ strike will not affect imports, everyone including the traders will have to pay the quotas, regarding the strike. The traders will be consulted and their concerns will be addressed.
He said that even today the tax collected in the country is very less, the MoU will be signed by the next month for the investment of billion dollars from the European shipping company.
He said that the government is working tirelessly and now various meetings have been held for the development and improvement of the country but implementation has been a major issue that needs to be resolved. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s government is working day and night to improve the efficiency of ports and remove bottlenecks.
He announced that a European company is interested in Pakistan and soon an MoU will be signed which will give Pakistan millions of dollars.
