KARACHI: The Irish government has approved the construction of a permanent cricket stadium in Dublin.
The stadium and accompanying High Performance Center will be built on the National Sports Campus in Dublin.
Earlier this year, Ireland postponed the first men’s bilateral series with Australia due to non-availability of a permanent cricket stadium.
Cricket Ireland currently has 4 grounds with ODI status at Malahide, Clontarf, Stormont and Brady, but these are all club cricket grounds and temporary stands, hence the temporary infrastructure to host an international match. But it costs a lot.
